Holdener is the defending combined world champion, having finished ahead of fellow Switzerland Alpine skier Michelle Gisin while racing in front of home fans in St. Moritz in 2017. It was the first women’s world title for Switzerland since 2001. She also claimed the slalom silver medal at the 2017 World Championships, behind Mikaela Shiffrin.

Getting to know Wendy Holdener


Holdener started skiing at 2. She made her World Cup debut at 17, and claimed her first World Cup podium at 19.


She hurt her shoulder in a motorcycle accident prior to the 2014 Olympics.


She enjoys slacklining and AcroYoga.
