Lindsey Vonn is the most decorated female Alpine ski racer in World Cup history, with more race victories and season titles than any other woman. At the Olympics, the “Speed Queen” became the first U.S. woman to win a downhill gold medal in 2010. Four years later, a right knee injury prevented her from attempting to defend her Olympic title. In PyeongChang, at 33, she could become the oldest woman to claim an Olympic Alpine medal.

Vonn has become one of the most visible Winter Olympians off the slopes, authoring a health and lifestyle book, appearing in Sports Illustrated’s swimsuit issue and previously maintaining a high-profile relationship with Tiger Woods.

Getting to know Lindsey Vonn


Vonn was known as Lindsey Kildow until she married her coach, Thomas, in 2007. The couple has since divorced.


She refers to the coaches, technicians and trainers that travel with her on the road as her “Vonntourage.”


She has said that her goal is to eventually race against men.
