John Landsteiner made his Olympic debut at the 2014 Sochi Games as the lead player on John Shuster’s U.S. rink. The team finished second to last in the Olympic tournament. Shuster formed a new rink after Sochi, with Landsteiner the only holdover from the Olympic team. Now playing with Matt Hamilton, Tyler George and Joe Polo, they've quickly moved up the international ranks. At the 2016 World Championships, Landsteiner and his teammates claimed a bronze medal. In 2017, they finished just off the world podium in fourth place when they lost the bronze medal match 7-5 to Switzerland. Off the ice, Landsteiner works full-time as an engineer whose office building in Duluth, Minnesota is conveniently linked to his curling club by way of a skywalk.
