Alise Post was first introduced to BMX racing through her older brother when she was 6 years old. While some Olympians immediately take to their sports, Post had a bit of a rockier start – even forfeiting her first-ever race after succumbing to the racing version of stage fright. A former gymnast and track and field athlete, Post gave it all up to commit to BMX racing full-time upon graduating high school in 2009. A year earlier, she was denied a spot on the 2008 Olympic team because she was too young to compete, but – in 2012 – Post finally made her Olympic debut. After being unable to make it out of the semifinals in London, Post has her sights set on Olympic redemption in Rio.
